SOIL AND GROUNDWATER CONTAMINATION

DTS Raeburn can provide tailor made solutions for a wide variety of ground contamination and risk assessment issues. We have expertise in carrying out detailed appraisals of the risks to human health, development end use, controlled waters (water environment) and ecological receptors. These are undertaken using a tiered approach. Where necessary we also undertake consultations with regulatory bodies during the risk assessment phase in order to enhance the ease of subsequent reviews and approvals.

The assessments are done under the following approach recommended by CLR11;

  • Preliminary risk assessment, including conceptual model.
  • Generic Quantitative Risk Assessment (GQRA); Where appropriate, generic assessment criteria are selected and compared to the measured contaminant concentrations. Statistical analysis are also used where appropriate.
  • Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessment (DQRA) where appropriate generic criteria are either exceeded or are not available.
